Having my students learn from another student is very powerful, and I know my kids learned way more about oil pastels from watching this amazing artist than they would have learned from me.
Thanks Casey!!!!
This past week, a former student of mine, current senior Casey Anderson, came to my classroom to give my students some help. We are currently learning about some color drawing mediums, and there was one that I just didn't know anything about. That medium is oil pastel. Casey on the other hand, is a master with the medium. She is self taught and is amazing. She agreed to come in and do some demos for my art 1 and my art 2: painting/drawing classes. She even let me film the demo to put in the "how do i? portal".

Hi Friends,
I want to make sure my students have the materials they need to succeed, so I just created a request for my classroom at DonorsChoose.org: Choosing The Right Sized Canvas Give to my classroom by October 22, 2014 and your donation will be doubled thanks to DonorsChoose.org. Just enter the code SPARK on the payment page and you'll be matched dollar for dollar (up to $100). If you chip in to help my students, you'll get awesome photos and our heartfelt thanks. Thanks so much, Jean Barnett THIRD PLACE:TIED FOR FIRST PLACE:Every 3 weeks, students in Art 1 and Art 2: Painting/Drawing are faced with the Meme Challenge. They are to create a meme from a list of paintings provided for them. Over the course of the next few days, they vote for the top 3 for each class, then we have a final round of voting from those winners for the top 3 overall. The winners have their memes displayed in the announcement slideshow during tutorials and lunches for a week. Here are the winners for this week: Tied for 3rd place2nd Place1st Place |
AuthorMrs. Barnett, Art Teacher Extraordinaire. But really, the students create the awesomeness on this page. The Living Painting ExperimentThe living painting is a 36"X40" canvas that the students are free to work on and add to as they have extra paint or are finished with their work. The work will continue to evolve as students add and cover.
