WHAT IS THE "DAILY SNAPSHOT"?
The Daily Snapshot is a daily snapshot of what YOU are doing in the art studio. It is a record of your activity. It is a place to store all of your information--your photo references, relevant videos, photos of your process, notes on what you are doing, links to statements, links to websites, and so much more. It is a place where you can reflect on your process and what we are doing in class. It is a place where I can communicate with you when class-time wasn't enough.
HOW WILL YOUR COMPLETE YOUR DAILY SNAPSHOT?
At the end of class, you will be given a few minutes to complete your snapshot. However, as you are working during class, you might find that it will be easier to upload websites, videos, and other online references as you are looking at them. This way you don't have to find them again at the end of class.
You will be using an online program called BLENDSPACE. You can find BlendSpace by following this link: https://www.tes.com We will go over how to create your BlendSpace in class, but in case something happens to your laptop, or you are new to class or absent that day and missed set-up, you can go here to see a video tutorial on how to set up.

What is expected of your daily snapshot?
You will be expected to upload information about your artwork's process, any exploration you do, and information about research, resources, and planning. You will be expected to write a THOUGHTFUL sentence or two about what you are uploading and how it pertains to what you are working on.
You will do your snapshot a minimum of 3 times per week, but it is better to do more. This doesn't mean 3 tiles per week, it means as many tiles as it takes to show your process, research, planning, exploration, etc. So, one day you may create 3 tiles, another you may only have 1.
While it is not required, it may be easier for you to create a new "lesson" with each new artwork. If that is what you do, please fill out the BlendSpace link form for each new lesson you create.

What should you expect from the teacher?
As your teacher, I am very interested in your artistic journey and knowing how best to facilitate you through the process. You should expect that I will check your BlendSpace a minimum of twice per week. Your snapshot will help to give me more insight into your process and thinking than what I can gather from our conversations in class. Also, I will do my best to comment on what you have posted since the last time I checked. Often times these comments will come in the form of questions to help you think through your process or to point out things you may miss. Again, I am here to help you grow artistically and become the best artist you can be.
